After graduating from Cadet College Hasanabdal in 1975, Air Vice Marshall Aminullah Khan joined the Pakistan Airforce in 1976. He graduated from College of Aeronautical Engineering, Korangi Creek in January 1980. Soon after he was selected for his assignment as Engineering Officer on F-16 aircraft. During this time, he did courses on F-16 aircraft structures and electrical system from USA. Aminullah is from the the 17th Entry and was in Omar Wing during his stay at Cadet College.
Besides these professional courses, he has also done Engineering Field Supervisor, Senior Engineering Management and Senior Command and Staff courses. During his entire service career he has held a variety of important assignements at operational bases and Air Headquarters including command of an Engineering Wing of Operational Base and Deputy Project Director at Air Headquarters. Moreover he has also served with the Royal Saudi Air Force on deputation.
In acknowledgement of his commendable service record, he was honoured with Professional Efficiency Badge, Chief of the Air Staff Commendation Certificates and was also conferred with Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military). He has served as Member Techical in Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Kamra. Thereafter, he assumed the responsibilities of the office of Deputy Managing Director, F-6 Rebuil Facory before his elevation to the higher office of Managing Director. After his promotion to the coveted rank of Air Vice marshall, he is currently posted as Managing Director Aircraft Manufacturing Factory, Kamra.
