KSA First Family Reunion

December 13 started as an ordinary day but by the end of the day, it turned into a beautiful memorable day. This was due to the grace of God, ex-Abdalians were able to conduct the First Abdalian Family reunion for KSA Abdalians. 36 Abdalians attended the event  out of which  20 attended as singles and 16 attended with their families .The arrangements were done in a private farm house (aka Istraha in Arabic) and it had two separate sections ,one for ladies and one for the boy's. Each area was equipped with a mini swimming pool, a majlis (area for ground seating) and lush green lawn .The variety of the event could be seen from the fact that the guests ranged from 13th Entry till the 47th Entry. One of the 47th Entry boys' later commented on the event in a beautiful and innocent way.

Abdalians had traveled from different parts of Saudi Arabia to be part of this reunion. For example, Dr. Ayub and Dr. Afaq from Hafouf, Engr. Naeem K. Haq from Dammam, Amir Hassan from Khafji, Dr. Naeem Zafar from  Buraida, while Dr. Nadeem Zafar and Dr. Salman Tasneem came all the way from Najran (More than 900 Kms). Luckily the organizers had ordered enough chairs for the guest so there was no problem. The same chairs were also used for group photos which reminded everyone of their CCH Annual Photograph event. Refreshments were served to the guest however most of them were interested in meeting their entry mates , telling tales and stories of their times  to the junior audience. All the attendees paid their contributions happily and even offered to cover for other in case if there was any  shortage of funds. For lunch, there were arrangements of a good buffet from the Red Onion restaurant. The food was delicious and everybody enjoyed it fully.

While the elders were having lunch, the children had their own fun in the swimming pool. Later everybody took their cup of  tea and found their own peaceful corner for the usual gossip that the old boy's love to have. The organizers distributed small prizes to the kids so that they also enjoy this day and take something back home as a token of love and remembrance. As the day started to change into an evening, it started to get a little cold and some of the guests therefore started to leave around 5 PM. Some guests though stayed till 7 pm but shifted indoors. By then, the organizers had already started to receive feedback of the event via Facebook and Yahoo group mails where some of the comments were truly amazing. At 7 pm every one left with the happy memories of the day.

This following comment made the day for the organizers

It was a great evening with all my senior bhai jans. You guys are our inspiration and the day went like a wind. Since last 3 years of my stay in Saudia, this was the only day when I felt like I am in my home. Thanks to all of you and especially the organizer BJ Shahzad Subhani, Amir Altaf, Farooq Punnia and Zohaib Tanveer. Looking forward towards more gatherings. Mohid Ahmed  (47th Entry H/W)
