Cadet College Hasanabdal is undergoing extensive renovation works these days while the cadets are enjoying their summer vacation. It is expected that once the cadets come back in late August, they will be pleasantly surprised to see the building improvements carried out in their absence. The renovation work has been undertaken on the initiative of the new Principal, Maj. Gen. Najeeb Tariq, who himself is an engineer and has been personally overseeing the progress.
The roof of Naeem Hall had extensive leakage problems accumulated over the years. The cadets dormitories were also in a dilapidated condition, to the extent that Omar Wing's ground floor dorms were completely flooded in 2012 rains and the cadets had to be evacuated. The renovation work includes roof treatment, door replacements, windows and cupboards renovation, enhancing space of the dining messes, IT facilities in the Wings and provision of high speed internet in the whole campus. The Principal took the bad conditions of the buildings as his first challenge and initiated the renovation works. We are sure that this is not the only challenge on his list of Things To Do. The renovation costs are estimated to be in millions of rupees and those Abdalians who are desirous of helping the alma-mater should contact the Principal at +92-57-252-0200.
