Hamza and Saim to represent Pakistan in Japan

Hamza Afzal Khattak

Saim Shujaat

The National Centre for Physics held a Screening Test in April this year. In the list of the nine students selected from all over the country, two cadets were rom Cadet College Hasanabdal: Hamza Afzal Khattak and Saim Shujaat. Hamza Afzal Khattak also topped the country in the selection examination by NCP. Their hard work and interest in the subject helped them to meet all the requirements and standards, resulting in their final selection for a team of students to visit Japan. They will be two students representing CCH, and part of the team of five, who will be representing Pakistan in the Epochal Tsukaba International Congress Centre, Japan.

Screening test included a written test and a brief interview. The selection criteria was applied stringently as follows:

  • The student should be fluent in English
  • He should have a sound knowledge of all three major science subjects
  • A grade report of the last two/three years
  • A resume
  • An essay on ASC-2013

The selected candidates also applied for the airfare fellowship, which was to be awarded to the two top delegates. Hamza Afzal Khattak also managed to obtain this airfare fellowship.

Hopefully if all goes well and their visas are processed in time, they shall proceed to Japan on 25th August, 2013. Well done boys! You make us all proud!
