It is with deep regret that we learnt on Monday, 8th January, 2007, of the sad demise of Maj. Gen. Javed Iqbal's father, Major (Retd) Abdus Sami who also belonged to the Corp of Engineers. Gen Javed is from the 13th Entry and is currently serving in Islamabad. His brother Navid Iqbal, who lives in the US will be reachig Islamabad on 9th January, 2007.
The funeral was held at the Army Graveyard, Rawalpindi at 2:30pm amidst a huge gathering of people, friends of the deceased and those of Gen. Javed's. The qul shall be held at 2:30pm on 9th January, 2007 at Gen. Javed's residence - House No. 5, Street 57, Sector F-7/4, Islamabad. Gen. Javed's telephone number is +92-51-920-5117.
