We announce with great grief that Prof Abdur Rauf passed away in Gujranwala on 19 December, 2006, after a battle with cancer. May his soul rest in Peace. Inna Lillah eh wa Inna Alahe Rajeoon.

Mr. Rauf was a fine individual and a great teacher. Many Abdalians would remember the interesting methods he used to use while teaching Goodbye Mr. Chips. He was also a talented boxer in his younger years, and also spent some time teaching english in Iran.
