It is with deep sorrow that we have learnt of the sad demise of Col. Amjad Shafi's wife after a protracted illness, on 18-Feb-2009. Her namaz-e-janaza was offered at the Army Graveyard on Wednesday where a large number of people attended including Amjad's friends from Hasanabdal. Our prayers go out for the departed soul and that May Allah bless her and give her His choicest place in Heavens and give the family the courage to bear this loss. Amjad Shafi's wife was a doctor and had served at various military hospitals.
Her Qul was held on 19-Feb-2009 at Col. Shafi's residence at SU-23, Lane 15, Askari-7, Adiyala Road, Rawalpindi between Zuhr and Asar while dua took place just before Asar prayers. The congregation for ladies was at the residence, while the gentlemen congregation was at the Jamia Masjid Askari-7.
