It is with deep sorrow that we have learnt of the sad demise of Mr. Shahid Mehmud from the 17th Entry (1970-1975 Liaqat Wing). Shahid was a cardiologist and was diagnosed of hepatoma about two months ago and died of this illness in Singapore. His namaz-e-janaza was offered yesterday (31-Dec-2009) and was later buried at Jam-e-Ashrafia in Lahore,

Shahid Mehmud is survived by a wife and two sons. The family was also Singapore based & will be returning there shortly. The elder son, Usman is a qualified actuary and is scheduled to soon join a doctorate program (on scholarship) in investment banking at Berkley.
