Faisal Ijaz Khan was appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO for Punjab Vocational Training Council, a Skills Development Company in Punjab in June 2010. This Rs. 6 Billion Company is an autonomous body and is responsible for training of over 15 million youth (marginalized sectors of the society) in Punjab between the age of 15 – 24 years. Having presence in all the 36 districts, PVTC is managing over 150 Institutes and a Staff and Teachers Training Institute. PVTC is a successful example of Public Private Partnership program. PVTC is responsible for providing skilled workforce to the industry, reduce drop out rates, ensuring job opportunities for the poor and creating necessary linkage between academia and the industry.
He has Worked for over 9 years in emerging markets in Africa and Middle East. During the last 4 years, he was directly engaged with different consulting firms like Delta Partners, McKenzie, Booz&Co, Teckot and Value Partners on different commercial and Marketing Excellence Turnaround Programs. Prior to his joining PVTC, Faisal was working with different international companies like CCO for Zantel, CMO for Zain in Sudan , Acting CEO / CCO for Warid in Pakistan, CCO for Uganda Telecom working for Deutsche Telecom, Commercial Director for SabaFon in Yemen working for Orascom, Director Prepaid and Distribution for Mobilink in Pakistan.
Before joining the Telecom industry he used to work as a Banker with Deutsche Bank. He belongs to the 29th Entry and holds an MBA degree from Chicago and also a BS Engineering Degree.
