Commodore Tayyab Ali Dogar joined the National Security College as its Commandant recently. He was promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral in April 2007. Tayyab belongs to the 15th Entry at Cadet College Hasanabdal.
Previously he was serving as Assistant Chief of Naval Staf (Operations) at Naval Headquarters Islamabad. Rear Admiral Dogar got his commission in the Operations Branch of the navy in June 1976. He served on various operational and staff appointments, including Navigation Officer, Weapons Officer and Executive Officer of submarines.
He has to his credit command of two submarines. He has also served as Staff Officer (Submarines) to Commander Pakistan Fleet and Staf Officer (Operations) to Commander Submarines. Key appointments at Naval headquarters include Deputy Director (Plans), Director Submarines (Operations) and Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Submarine acquisition).
