The discussion on amendments to the Memorandum & Articles of Association has been going on since 2002. Although this is not a priority for many Abdalians many of whom are living overseas, it has generated a lot of debate within the Abdalian community. The biggest objection by some was towards a clause that put a limit of atleast 3/4th members, subject to a minimum of 200 members present in the meeting to vote for any amendments the bye-laws. Now, towards the tail-end of the tenure of the incumbent body, the subject has come up again. Although, the official web-site of the Abdalians' Association has a page for disseminating information about such amendments, no information has been provided on the official web-site. A notice was however sent to about 300 members out of approximately 6000 Abdalians spread around the world. For the consumption and benefit of the vast majority of Abdalians who have not seen or know about the proposed amendments, scanned images of the proposed amendments are being published here. You may like to contact the President or the Secretary General, in case you have any observations on these amendments. |
