According to a press release of ISPR, Lt. Gen. Mohsin Kamal has been appointed as the Military Secretary (MS) at General Headquarters. He was earlier performing his duties as Commander 10 Corps, stationed at Rawalpindi.
Born at Sialkot in 1953, Lt. General Mohsin Kamal received his early education in Muzaffarabad (AK). He joined Cadet College Hasanabdal in 1966 (13th Entry ) and remained there till 1971. Later that year, he joined Pakistan Military Academy Kakul.
General Mohsin Kamal was commissioned in one of the oldest infantry units, the 17 Punjab Regiment Infantry (earlier 9th Bhopal Infantry) in 1972. He is a graduate of Command and Staff College, Pakistan, Defense Services Command and Staff College, Bangladesh and National Defense College, Pakistan.
General Mohsin has held various command, staff and instructional appointments during his military career. He has commanded two infantry battalions and an infantry Brigade. He has been a Brigade Major of an infantry Brigade, a staff officer at General Headquarters and a Chief of Staff of a Corps.
He has held various instructional appointments and remained on the faculty of School of Infantry and Tactics, Pakistan, King Abdul Aziz Military Academy, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Command and Staff College Quetta. He has also been a chief Instructor as well as Commandant Command and Staff College Quetta for 3 years, from where he went on to become the Commander Force Command Northern Areas (FCNA) Gilgit since April 2005.
