Iftikhar Rashid - A Profile

Iftikhar RashidIfthikhar Rashid, a 2nd Entry student in Cadet College, was born in 1943 in Jalandhar (India). After attending various schools like, Grammar School Quetta, Burn Hall School Abbottabad, Jesus & Mary Convent School Sialkot, he joined Cadet College Hasanabdal in 1955.

He is a law graduate and joined the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) as an officer through the CSS examination in 1967. He held all important positions in the department and worked in all disciplines of policing. Starting as ASP Khanewal he rose to the rank of Superintendant of Police (SP) in 1971 and was SP Traffic in Karachi, SSP Karachi, SSP Hyderabad, AIG SInd and AIG Traffic Punjab, from whre he was promoted Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in 1976 and posted as Commandant Sihala Police Academy.

Mr. Iftikhar Rashid has the unique distinction of training nearly 100 PSP officers, including thirty five majors and ten colonels inducted into the police force. Out of all theofficers presently in the rank of Inspector General's, the majority are trainees of Iftikhar Rashid, including IG Punjab, IG NWFP and IG Baluchistan. In 1990, Mr. Rashid was specially selected and posted as Inspector General of Police, federal Capital Territory, Islamabad.

Father of four Abdalians passes away

It is with profound grief that we have learnt of the sad demise of Col. Inayat Elahi, who passed away on Wednesday, 21st September, 2011. His qul was held at their village, Tajik, near Attock on Thursday, 22nd September, 2011. Col. Inayat Elahi's all four sons went to Cadet  College Hasanabdal - Zakir Elahi (Omar Wing 26th Entry), Irfan Elahi (Liaqat Wing 27th Entry), Asim Elahi (Omar Wing 31st Entry) and Babar Elahi (Liaqat Wing 34th Entry).

We pray that Allah gives him His choicest place in Heaven and give the family the courage to bear this great loss.

Zehra Aziz graduates with Honours as an architect

Zehra Aziz, daughter of Rashid Aziz (11th Entry) has graduated with Honours as Architect from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey on 28th June 2009. Zehra is back in Pakistan and shall be too glad to design houses or office interiors for Abdalians on very special discounted fee. She plans to practice at this moment and then head for her Masters.

Zehra has been an outstanding student getting straight 8 A,s in her A levels from Froebel's Islamabad before heading for Architecture to Turkey in 2005.

Brig. Ahmed Riza Siddiqi heading FIEDMC as Chief Operating Officer

Brig. Ahmed Raza SiddiquiBrig. Ahmed Riza Siddiqi joined the Faisalabad Industrial Estate Management Company (FIEDMC) as its Chief Operating Officer with effect from 1st Novenmer, 2004 and is presently working at the same position. Brig. Ahmed Raza Siddiqi belongs to the 10th Entry and is the son of our illustrious teacher at Cadet College Hasanabdal, Mr. Manzoor ul Haq Siddiqi.

FIEDMC has been established by the Government of Punjab on the basis of Public Private Partnership to achieve orderly , planned and rapid industrialization . The main objective is to develop a chain of new industrial estates alongwith upgrading the existing ones in a dynamic and innovative manner and providing solutions to the problems of prospective entrepreneurs.

Mr. Mussadaq Zulqarnain, yet another Abdalian from 17th Entry is one of the directors of FIEDMC.

Asmat Saleem's mother-in-law passes away

It is with profound grief that we have learnt of the sad demise of Asmat Saleem's mother-in-law, who passed away on Friday, 23rd September, 2011, in her village. Her namaz-e-janaza was held at her village near Chakwal on Friday, while the qul khwani is to be held on Sunday, 25th September.

We pray that Allah gives her His choicest place in Heaven and give the family the courage to bear this great loss.

Asmat Saleem belongs to the 17th Entry and was in Jinnah Wing and currently lives in Islamabad after serving Pakistan Tobacco Company for a long time.
