The Secretary General of Abdalians' Association has sent out a notification to about 300 members by post, informing them of the amendments being brought about in the Memorandum and Articles of Association of Abdalians' Association. Initially a letter, 786/HOBA/Circ/2009-2 dated 2nd October, 2009 was sent out followed by a Notice for holding Special General Meeting, dated 20th November, 2009 (Ref: 786/HOBA/Circ/2009-5).

A Special General Meeting of Abdalians Association was held on 4th December, 2009 at the Associations Liaison Office at Karcon (Pvt) Limited's premises. The meeting was attended by not more than twelve people, of whom most of them voted in favour of the amendments. Similar meetings were also held at Peshawar and Lahore a little earlier where some new members got registered by paying their subscriptions and voted for the amendments. As the meeting in Islamabad attracted very few people, the President, Syed Ashfaq Hussain has convened another meeting the following week. If 3/5th of the members present in such meetings held in Lahore, Peshawar and Islamabad approve the amendments to the Memorandum and Articles of Association, the amendments will stand incorporated in the bye-laws.

The meeting in Islamabad on 4th Dec'09 was presided by Syed Ashfaq Hussain (President Abdalians' Association), Capt. Nayyar Islam (Secretary General), Sikander Khattak (Vice President NWFP Chapter), Lt. Col. Dr. Saad Azim (Member EC), Dr. Faisal Manzoor (Member EC), Fawad Manzoor, Qaiser Manzoor, Saleem Moghul, Raja Dilshad, Col. Gillani and Tariq O. Rehman.

Rejected Yesterday! Accepted Today! Twice in two years!

After all three nominations for the position of the President were REJECTED by the Scrutiny Committee earlier, it held a meeting again on 17-Feb-2011 to discuss the future of the elections on 13th March 2011. The meeting was presided by the incumbent President. It can be safely assumed that participants of this meeting comprised of the members of the Scrutiny Committee and the President only.

According to the official website of HOBA, all members of the Scrutiny Committee unanimously held that the scrutiny process was "transparent" and "unbiased". The members of the Scrutiny Committee also held that "whatever" is the rule, it must be adhered to by the "educated class of Abdalians".

Despite the unanimous view opined by the Scrutiny Committee, that the rejection of nomination papers was correct under the law, the same people decided to accept the nomination papers of all three candidates. However, it decided that "let this be the last time to allow elections on erroneous nomination papers". NO MR. PRESIDENT! YES MR. PRESIDENT!

Registered members cross 1300 mark

On 17 August 2009 the number of Abdalians registered on this web site crossed the 1300 mark. This number is still way short of the 5000+ boys who have graduated from Cadet College  Hasanabdal. We are however grateful to all those who spread the word amongst their friends to visit this site and register themselves.

As we move forward from this point on, the Web Site Administration Team wishes to acknowledge the contributions made by a lot of Abdalians in terms of providing information, gathering news, submitting pictures and introducing new members. Thank you each one of you.

We shall also like to invite people to come forward and actively participate in the management of this website. A background in IT will indeed be helpful in further improving the content management and theme of the site. Please feel free to contact Mr. Tariq O. Rehman at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
