The official website of HOBA has recently published an announcement for elections of the Secretary General and Members of the Executive Committee, to be held on 18th March, 2012. A complete schedule has been published comprising of various elections steps starting from the announcement on 24th January, 2012 leading to the the election day on 18th March, 2012. The schedule includes, display of voting lists, filing of objections, scrutiny of candidates etc.
HOBA's elections system is such, that, one year there is an election of the President and the next year there is an election of the Secretary General and Members of EC. The President in such a case has to work with two teams during his tenure. In contrast, during previous years, there used to be only one election for all the office bearers, who would be elected for a period of two years. One of the reasons that previous HOBA administrations have not been able to perform, is the fact, that the position of the President overlaps with two different teams in two years.
