CCH's new Principal - A/Cdr Tayyab Naeem Akhtar

Air Commodore Tayyab Naeem Akhtar (Retd) SI(M) was appointed as the new Principal of Cadet College Hasanabdal by the Board of Governors of the College. The Board of Governors is headed by the Governor Punjab. A/Cdr Tayyab joined CCH on 30th October, 2006 and shall be completing the transition by the end of November 2006.

Principal

A/Cdr Tayyab was commissioned in the PAF in 1968. He has commanded a mirage squadron and is a graduate of the 75th Advanced Staff Course at the Royal Air Force (RAF) Staff College, Bracknell in the UK.

During his service he has held various key appointments as Commandant, College of Flying Training, Risalpur, commanded the PAF Base at Kohat, faculty member of ND Wing at the National Defence College, Islamabad and as ACAS Training at Air Headquarters. He has also been conferred with an award of Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military).

After his retirement in 1998, A/Cdr Tayyab was serving as Director Administration, HR & Welfare at Shaheen Foundation, Islamabad since June 2000 till January 2006, before being appointed as Principal Cadet College Haanabdal.

The Abdalians' Association on behalf of all Abdalians wish him every success, as he leads the College from 2006 onwards. Welcome to Hasanabdal, Mr. Principal!

Prof Dilshad Hussain says goodbye to CCH

Dishad SbProf. Syed Dilshad Hussain, or Dilshad Sahib, as he is more commonly called by his peers and thousands of students said goodbye to Cadet College Hasanabdal this week after a long and meritorious association with the College.

Prof. Dilshad Hussain was born in 1933 and after doing his masters in history from Govt. College Lahore, joined Cadet College Hasanabdal in 1954. Except for a period between 1982 and 2002 when he was heading the Fauji Foundation Colleges (both boys and girls), he literally has spent his life on the grounds of Cadet College Hasanabdal.

Due to his long and outstanding services to the cause of education in general and his contribution to Cadet College Hasanabdal in particular he was also conferred upon with the award of  Sitara-e-Imtiaz by the government.

Now that he leaves CCH after 52 years, all Abdalians join in to wish him the best of everything for the future and say Thank You, Sir!

Shakeel Akhter's father passes away

It is with deep sorrow that we have learnt of the sad demise of Shakeel Akhter's father on Tuesday 21 November, 2010. May Allah bless the departed soul and give him His choicest place in Heavens and give the family the courage to bear this loss. Shakeel belongs to the 27th Entry (1980-85) and was in Haider Wing.

Shakeel's father was also the real paternal uncle of Dr. Faisal Manzoor (22nd Entry), the incumbent Secretary General of HOBA.

Lt. Gen. Tariq Pervez undergoes successful surgery

Lt. Gen. Tariq Pervez, TP as he is more commonly known, underwent a successful heart surgery at AFIC, Rawalpindi today. Maj. Gen. Azhar Rashid performed a successful operation, and Gen TP is fast recovering. Both generals and both Abdalians, this time they were on different sides of the table, however all controls were in Gen. Azhar's hands this time.

We all wish Gen. TP a fast and healthy recovery.

Saleem Mughal's brother passes away

It is with deep sorrow that we have learnt of the sad demise of Saleem Mughal's brother on Sunday 21 November, 2010. May Allah bless the departed soul and give him His choicest place in Heavens and give the family the courage to bear this loss. His namaz-e-janaza will be held today (22-Nov-2010) at Abbottabad Road, Hasanabdal. The qul will be held on 23-Nov-2010 at his home in Hasanabdal, which is opposite the Housing Colony, near Railway Crossing Hasanabdal.

Saleem Mughal belongs to the 17th Entry from Aurangzeb Wing and is currently running his own business in Wah Cantt. His cell number is 0331 453 5213.
