Executive Committe Meeting held at Peshawar

A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Hasanabdal Old Boys' Association (HOBA) was held on 2nd Dec'07 at Peshawer under the chairmanship of its President, Lt. Gen. Muhammad Masood Aslam, Commander 11 Corps.

Besides the President it was attended by Mr. Sikander Khattak, Vice President NWFP, Capt Nayyer Islam (Retd) Member, Brig Noor ud din Ahmed (Retd) Secretary General, Mr. Adnan Afaq, Secretary Finance and Mr. Tariq O. Rehman, Associate Member.

In addition to discussion on routine matters of the Association it was also decided to hold the Annual General Meeting of HOBA on Sunday, 27 Jan 2008, at the College.

As the tenure of the current committee is expiring in Dec 2007 elections for the new committee will also be held during the AGM being planned on 27 Jan 2008. Namaz-e-janaza and qul of Parade Lane shuhada

Major General Ovais Mustafa's fathers namaz-e-janaza, who embraced shahadat in the Parade Lane terrorist attack, was held at the Army Graveyard on Sunday, 06-Dec-2009 at 2:30 pm. The funeral was attended by a cross section of people, including a large number of Abdalians belonging to the 13th Entry in particular and various other entries in general. Wing Commanders of all the wings along with the Principal also attended the funeral. Qul for the shaheed will be held on Monday, 07-Dec-2009 at General Ovais's home in Parade Lane. People participating are advised to carry their original CNIC's with them for security reasons.

Later on, the same evening, quran khwani for Hashim Masood was held at his house in Parade Lane. The soyem was attended by many people including the Governor of NWFP, Abdalians from various entries, friends of Masood Aslam and senior military and civilian personnel.

We pray that Allah gives the shuhada His choicest place in Heavens and gives the families the courage to bear this irreparable loss.

College needs charity donations

Principal, Cadet College Hasanabdal, seeks the support of Abdalians for charity donations for staff members and has requested that this announcment is published on the Abdalians website.

Mr. Ashfaq Ahmed, wing bearer of Aurangzeb Wing died on 6th May, 2007 of a sudden cardiac arrest. He has left behind a widow and six children, all below the age of seven years. The College has given employment to his married brother so that Ashfaq's widow can retain the service quarters. The cadets have collected Rs. 45,000/- before closure of the College for summer break. The Principal has promised a monthly stipend of Rs. 1,000/- starting July 2007. Amount collected for the widow shall be deposited in the National Savings Scheme for widows. which shall yield a monthly profit to help her cater for her expenses.

Mr. Rafaqat Hussain is a private employee of a faculty member. He has six daughters and the eldest is getting married for which he needs material and monetary help. Abdalians who are in a position and desirous of helping Rafaqat, may get in touch with the Principal at (057)-252-0200, 252-0201 or 252-0247. There are about three to four other employees's daughters getting ready for marriage in the near future, who all require additional help.
